The President of the Tinubu Soccer, has appointed Grace Henry as Chairman of the National Council of the Legion Nigeria.
Henry was the first woman to hold that position.
Senior Special Assistant for the Chair of the Media and Digital Communication, Head of Abdul Lauya, revealed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Lauya said the appointment marked an important milestone when Henry became the first woman and the first assigned officer to take the leadership of the leading Veterans of Nigeria.
He said the appointment was conveyed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Federation Government, Senator George Akume, began to take effect on June 7.

“Ms. Henry, born on October 5, 1964, brought more than 25 years of leading service experience, after retiring from the Nigerian Army in 2000.
“Until his appointment, he was the director of the company affairs at the Legion headquarters, Abuja. He also currently serves as the National Coordinator of the Nigerian Women’s Military Veterans.
“Ms. Henry replaces the retired major. Abdulmalik Jibrin, and his appointment is widely seen as proof of the federal government’s commitment to gender and inclusive equality in the veteran community,” he said.
