Qedng, an online newspaper published by Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, has announced the launch of the Creative Powerhouse Creative Summit.
The summit will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the Ikeja area in the state of Lagos on Tuesday 12 August 2025.
The founder and CEO of Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, Olumide Iyanda, made this known through a declaration issued on Thursday 26 June.
Iyanda said that the theme summit “Financing as a catalyst for a flourishing creative economy”, would have brought together a diversified group of stakeholders, including the leaders of the sector, investors, politicians and emerging talents, to discuss strategies to speed up growth in the creative sector of Nigeria.
Iyanda said: “In Qedng, we are committed to promoting creativity, credible journalism and the development of human capital. This summit acts as a platform to face critical challenges and unlock the vast potential of the creative economy of Nigeria.
“The creative sector of Nigeria, which includes films, music, art, fashion, advertising and digital media, contributes significantly to the country’s GDP and cultural identity. However, it must face barriers such as limited funding, technological deficits and sustainability problems.
“The summit will face these challenges by exploring innovative financing solutions, promoting partnerships between creatives and investors and providing tools for effective financial management. It will also be a space for the collaboration between creatives, leaders of the sector and politicians to guide sustainable growth.
“The event is open to a wide range of participants, including artists, filmmakers, musicians, designers, academics and financial institutions. He promises to provide participants with precious intuitions and opportunities to create significant connections in the sector.
“This summit is a strategic initiative to advance the creative economy. It is designed to fill the gaps, provide resources and allow the interested parties to guide the transformative change. This is aligned with the Mission of Qedng to support the cultural and economic development of Nigeria.”
He added that further details on the summit, including the speakers and panels, will be announced in the coming weeks.
