Volleyball: Elam and 3 others obtain FIVB Level II coaching certificates

The head coach of the Nigerian women’s senior volleyball team, Elishama Elam, and three other Nigerian coaches have obtained their FIVB Level II coaching certificates.

In a statement signed by the Vice President of the Nigerian Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Prince Tunde Omisore, Elam, Taiwo Oladipupo, Ayokunnu Aboderin and Dauda Saje passed their exams in Gambia on Sunday, October 11.

Omisore praised the coaches for excelling in the course, noting that their achievement would increase the number of FIVB Level II certified coaches in Nigeria.

He added that the knowledge gained by the coaches will strengthen the country’s technical team and help prepare the men’s and women’s national teams for the 2027 African Games in Egypt.

Omisore said: “This is an advantage for the Nigerian coaching team as four coaches, including the head coach of the women’s national team, Elishama Elam, and the head coach of the men’s team, Taiwo Oladipupo, are now FIVB Level II certified coaches.

“Part of the mandate of the current board of directors is to ensure that the national teams have competent coaches to manage the players.

“The coaches will assist technical advisor Ryan Masajedi in carrying out his duties as the country prepares for the 2027 African Games in Egypt.”

Meanwhile, Saje, who also serves as the players’ representative on the board of directors of the Nigerian Volleyball Federation, emerged as the overall outstanding candidate after recording the highest score in the examination.
