Unemployment: Kogi trains 2,310 young people on the conversion of methane

The State Government of Kogi has launched the formation of 2,310 young people in the 21 areas of the local government of the State in the conversion technology of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a means of strengthening young people and economic diversification.

The commissioner for information and communications, Kingsley Fanwo, while speaking during the training in Lokoja, said that the initiative was in collaboration with Sufpay Ltd, designed to equip the young people from Kogi with cutting -edge skills that align with the national embrace of the cleaning Nigeria and more sustainable energy solutions.

He described the program as a bold and strategic move to position the state for the emerging energy revolution, observing that the initiative will not only strengthen the local economy, but will also act as a non -Kinetic strategy to face insecurity.

He added that “our governor, his excellence Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has made a clear commitment to the empowerment of young people, and this program is a clear demonstration of this commitment. We are building the development around our young people because they are the greatest resource of our state”,

The commissioner also extended the appreciation to Sufpay Ltd, adding that the dedication and technical skills of the company have contributed to advance the vision.

The training initiative aligns with larger national efforts to move on to alternative fuel sources and reduce dependence on petrol, simultaneously facing unemployment through technical empowerment.

The training is also decentralized so that young people can learn in their family environments. The training centers are Lokoja, Oknene, Idah and Kabba.
