Tinubu appointed a former Aide Buhari as Chairman of PCNI

Ball President Ahmed Tinubu has appointed lawyer Ismael Ahmed as the executive chairman of the Presidential Compressed Gas Initiative (PCNGI).

Ahmed served as a former Special Assistant for a former President of Muhammadu Buhari in the national social investment program between 2018 and 2022.

In a statement on Friday, June 27, 2025, by Bayo onanuga, special advisors, information and strategies to President Tinubu, he revealed that Ahmed will coordinate the operation of the President’s initiative, which is designed to reduce the effects of eliminating fuel subsidies by offering cheaper, more affordable, and cleaner energy choices.

Ripples Nigeria reports that PCNI is a component of the Tinubu administrative palliative intervention program.

PCNI was introduced as a strategic response to the removal of fuel subsidies, which is intended to expand access to alternative energy that is cleaner and cheaper for Nigerians.
