Yobe Desert is starring the Top Group A, dedicates the victory to Governor Buni

Yobe Desert Stars FC exhibited the sand and determination on Sunday, since they annulled an early deficit to ensure a 2-1 victory over Doma United FC in its second meeting of Group A of the Playoffs Super 8 of the National League of Nigeria (NNL) in Asaba.

The result drives the Damaturu -based side to the group’s summit with four points, after a draw in its opening game. The goals of Abdullahi Yakubu Dokshi and Umar Idriss Goska canceled the early leadership of Doma United, winning Yobe Desert star in their first victory of the playoffs and placed them in a strong containment for a promotion slot to the Premier Football League of Nigeria.

Following the energetic victory, the team proudly dedicated the result to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, his excellence Hon. Mai Mala Buni, praising its unwavering support and investment in sports development throughout the State. The club praised the governor’s commitment, describing him as a key pillar behind his growing success story.

The president of the club, Mohammed Alkali Achama Sarkiyo, was also acclaimed by his inclusive leadership style and his strategic vision, which have helped stabilize and inspire the team inside and outside the field. The leadership of Sarkiyo, combined with the consistent support of Governor Buni, has been accredited by laying the foundations for the strong Yobe Desert Stars playoff campaign.

With Wikki and Barau FC tourists still to complete their second games, the group remains open. However, Yobe Desert stars have put themselves in a dominant position while looking at a return to first -class football, a mission that now has a symbolic value for both the club and their fans throughout the state of Yobe.

The team has reaffirmed its approach and determination, promising to fight to the final whistle in its search for promotion and continue to take pride in the state in the national football stage
