The troops drove more than 400 bandits in Kebbi

The Nigerian Army forces from Battalion Cahaya 223, Zuru, have succeeded in driving out massive attacks by more than 400 heavy armed bandits in the City of Ribah in Danko Wasagu Area of โ€‹โ€‹the Kebbi State Government.

Confrontation, which occurred on Wednesday, turned into an intense weapon battle that lasted several hours. Witnesses describe the meeting as a full scale war zone, with the superior tactics of the Army and shots that forced the attackers to be in a hurry retreat.

Military sources confirmed that a large number of attackers were neutralized during the clash, while others fled with gunshot wounds, leaving the weapons cache and ammunition. Since then the troops have secured the area and restored normally to the city.

Praising the army’s performance, the security director of the Kebbi state cabinet office, Abdulrahman Zagga, praised the rapid response of troops and strategic brilliance.
“The troops show unusual courage. The fast response and the efficiency of their battle changed what could be a major disaster into an extraordinary victory,” Zagga said.

He also praised the Nigerian Air Force for important air support, which he said caused significant victims of the striker who escaped and effectively disrupted their escape routes.

“The current situation is fully controlled. People can sigh of relief thanks to our security forces,” he added.

According to intelligence reports, the attackers are believed to be part of a well -known criminal syndicate responsible for a series of deadly attacks in neighboring Niger State neighboring countries. Their expansion efforts to the Kebbi were explicitly destroyed by the Joint Military Responses.

In a separate but related incident, the army from Dukku Barracks also thwarted other bandits attacks on Mera, a community in the Augie Regional Government. The attackers, who were identified as members of the Lakurawa Bandit network, were reportedly trying to steal livestock but were pushed back by Army personnel in a shootout that made them run away with bare hands.

React to the two operations, the Governor of the State Kebbi Nasir Idris praised the security forces for their courage and effectiveness.

“This victory is proof that with sustainable support and collaboration, our security agent can defeat Banditri and restore peace to our community,” the Governor said.

Only two days earlier, the same joint operation at Danko Wasagu Axis caused the rescue of six kidnapped victims and the recovery of stolen livestock – led the wave of new success in the war against insecurity.

The residents who are grateful in the rhythm and Mera stated relief and urged the government to maintain momentum to ensure lasting safety. Many call for an increase in the presence of security operators to prevent future attacks.
