Senate deleted Natasha as Chair of the Diaspora Committee

The Senate has moved the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan, as Chair of the Diaspora Committee and non-medium organizations.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended for six months due to alleged violations of senate regulations in March was moved to the Diaspora Committee from. Local Content Committee in February.

Judge Binta Nyako from the Federal High Court, Abuja, ordered the recovery of the senator last week.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced a change in the committee’s leadership at a Wednesday plenary in Abuja.

He announced the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East, Aniekan Bassey as the new chairman of the Diaspora Committee and non-governmental organizations.

Although no reason is given for change, it may not be unrelated to the controversy that follows the suspension of Akpoti-Uuduaghan by the Senate.
