Akume: Yomi Odunuga is my special consultant, media and advertising

It became necessary to make the following clarifications from the secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) the senator of his excellence George Akume, which the versatile and respected journalist, Yomi Odunuga, was actually appointed special councilor for his media office and advertising.

The appointment received the approval of Sgf Akume on Thursday 10 July 2025, following which the new special consultant was commissioned to start active functions.

On the same day, in line with the authorization that was given to him by his new employer, Odunuga had signed a declaration in his new capacity issued to the debunking press of the items that connect the SGF to the position of national President of the Congress of the Judgment All Progressives (APC).

However, in line with the right trial as requested by the rules of the public service (PSR), the new special consultant is subjected to documentation in the SGF office for an incorporation without continuity in the office staff.

Sgf Akume reiterates his trust in Mr. Odunuga to bring his wealth of experience and proven record track as a strict quality journalist to bear on the general image of the SGF office.

The public is invited to ignore any insinuation on the contrary regarding the appointment of Mr. Odunuga by the SGF, as has been released in sections of the mainstream media.
