The Governor of the State of Plateau, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, described the recent attack in Jebbu Binde Village in the Ta-Hoss District in the Riyom Regional Government in the state as a genocidal act and not the clash of farmers.
Governor Mutfwang made a statement on Wednesday when he visited the community where armed people suspected of being the Fulani militia who were attacked on Monday killed more than 30 people, where he reiterated the government’s commitment to protect the lives and property of citizens in every part of the country.
When speaking to the victims of the attack, Governor Mutfwang strongly condemned the murder and convinced people that his government would not leave them during their sadness.
He also promised to form a committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the country’s security architecture to ensure that those assigned to protection of life and property release their responsibilities without compromise.
“This is not a case of conflict of farmers. This is terrorism; this is a genocide, simple and simple. And I make sure you will increase this problem to the highest level,” Mutfwang convinced.
The Governor further reiterated the determination of his government to end repeated attacks by non-state actors by spreading any available resources including increasing problems to the highest level.
“Let me promise you, with God’s grace, Riyom will not fall. We will mobilize every resource we have to end this genocide.
“We cannot continue like this. These attackers are not spirits, real people do this cruelty and disappear without traces.
