Muhammed Babangida, son of the former military president of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Babangida wrote to President Bola Tinubu to reject his appointment as president of the Bank of Agricult [BoA]
Last Friday 18 July, Tinubu announced the appointment of Muhammad’s Babangida to the President of the Bank Foundation Council
On Monday, a letter signed by Muhammed made his way to the public down the appointment.
He said in the letter: “Your excellence, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the honor of being considered and appointed president of the Bank of Agriculture. It is a true privilege to be thought worthy of such a strategic role in advancing the agricultural and economic development of the nation.

“After careful reflection and consideration, I decided with the utmost respect for the refusal of the appointment. This decision was not taken lightly. It comes from a convergence of personal and professional considerations, which at this moment would not have allowed me to serve with the level of focus and commitment that the position rightly requires.
“Your excellence, I remain fully engaged in the vision of a prosperous and self -sufficient Nigeria under your leadership.
“I continue to keep your administration at most respect and I am ready to support national development in other ways in which my experience could be of service.”
