‘He told me,’ Aisha Yesufu reiterated Obi’s commitment to the presidency of a single term

The Ko-Convener from the Backbackourgirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, has revealed that the presidential candidate from the Labor Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, convinced him in a personal conversation that he would undergo a term if elected as president.

Yesufu. Which reacts to the new debate about Obi’s sincerity in resigning after undergoing a term if he becomes president, takes to his X platform on Sunday to emphasize that the former Governor of the State Anambra has given him his words about his desire to spend a term of office if elected as president.

According to him, Obi always maintains the same attitude from when he is contested in 2023, using Nelson Mandela as a template.

Yesufu also suggested that the North was worried that supporting Obi might lead to extra four years for the south.

He wrote:

“I, Aisha Yesufu can confirm that Peter Gregory Obi always says he will only do the term even before the 2023 election.

“I used to argue with him that one term was not enough and he could not just refuse to compete.

“Infact, I told him on several occasions when we campaigned in 2022 that people would not allow him to do only a term.

“He will use Nelson Mandela as an example. He will explain that if someone is ready to really work that the term is more than enough!

“Earlier this year, I returned to him to ask if he really intended what he said about doing only the term.

“Many from the north show concern over support for Peter Obi can cause 4 extra years for the south.

“I tell him that I will talk about his promise to do a term only in public and I need confirmation to do the term because my integrity is important to me and I don’t want to say something and it turns out not so.

“Mr. Peter Obi once again gave me his words that he would only do one term.”
