FG: Over 300 repentant terrorists subjected to rehabilitation – Thage

The Federal Government said that over 300 repentant terrorists are currently being rehabilitated, while over 2,600 have completed the process pursuant to the operational safety corridor in the State of Gombe.

The National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Center, the Mag-Gen Adamu Laka, made this known to Abuja on Thursday during a meeting of the interested parties and donors on the promotion of sustenance and agricultural opportunities for former fighters and communities affected by conflicts.

He explained that the program provides psychosocial support, professional training and reintegration assistance, with plans to extend initiatives similar to the north-western and north-center regions.

Laka added that a new agri -food project, in collaboration with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, would provide land, inputs, training and access to the market for both former fighters and vulnerable members of the communities concerned.
