The police extend the deadline for enforcement of colored glass permits until October 2

Police Inspector General, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has agreed to extend the grace period to uphold the requirements of a colored glass permit for vehicles with colored windows, shifting the upholding date of 2 October 2025.

Public Relations Force officer, DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, announced the development in a statement on Monday, explaining that the decision was influenced by sharp increases in the applications proposed through the official portal.

“This decision follows a significant improvement of applications through an official platform, showing increased public compliance. Additional time will allow comprehensive supervision of each application to ensure permits only for individuals who meet the requirements, in accordance with national security considerations,” Adejobi said.
