The Bauchi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the sudden death of a member at the service of the National Youth Service Corps in the local government area of the state.
A metro punch report said that the accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday 10 August 2025, when the deceased, identified as the 28 -year -old Nwokdi Chukwuebuka, was found unconscious in an apartment provided to members of the community’s body by his colleagues and by the Liaison official.
The spokesman for the State Police, Ahmed Waziri, confirmed the accident in a telephone interview on Monday, stating that the police commissioner had ordered a preliminary investigation.
“The command received a sudden and natural death complaint on August 10, 2025, around 9:20 am.
“The Dambam’s LGA body connection officer arrived at the Dambam division division police headquarters and reported that on the same date at about 8:30 am, all the members of the body that were Christians who served in the LGA were preparing for the services of the Sunday Church when they noticed Waziri.
“The CLO went to wake him up but discovered that he did not breathe. He reported the question to the police station. The CP, Sani Aliu, ordered the DPO to visit the scene.

“The body’s member was taken to the hospital, where a doctor certified him dead, as sanctioned by the best international practices. The body was subsequently filed at the Federal Medical Center, azare, mortuary,” he added.
Waziri observed that the CP had directed an in -depth preliminary investigation on the case, which is still ongoing.
A similar mysterious death was recorded in 2023 in the state of Adamawa when another member of the body, identified as Samuele, collapsed and died while looking at a football match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana in South Africa. [The Punch]
