Former President Jonathan analyzed Nigerian political issues, stock experience

Former President of Goodluck Jonathan regretted that Nigeria’s political space was dominated by betrayal and dishonesty, given his own experience during and after his term of office in the office.

Jonathan spoke in the city of Benin, Edo state, on Tuesday at the 70th birthday celebration of his former Chief of Staff and Deputy Governor Edo once, Head of Mike Oghiadomhe. This event attracted high -ranking officials including former Governor Lucky Igbinedion, Osarhiemen Osunbor, Adams Oshomhole, and Ibrahim Dakwambo from Gombe State, among others.

In a tribute to Oghiadomhe, Jonathan described it as one of the rare politicians who remained steadfast and loyal.

“I became president, then posted the president, one of the few friends who could release their necks for me was Mike. You know politics in Nigeria’s standards is about betrayal.

“You find it difficult to see someone who will say the same thing in the morning and evening. I have witnessed a lot of betrayal, especially my 2015 election, and Mike is someone who will take bullets on my name,” Jonathan said.

“He is someone you can bring to the bank. Most of the other politicians, you cannot bring their words to the bank. They will tell you something, the next hour they say the others”.

Other speakers also poured encomium to Oghiadomhe. Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, who represented the Governor of Monday Okpebholo, noted that the celebrity laid a strong foundation during his time as deputy governor. Former Governor Lucky Igbinedion remembered entrusting him with the leadership of the state every time he traveled abroad.

Adams Oshiomhole added a personal record, saying, “Every time I discuss politics with celebrities, he always tells me that wherever Jonathan is, it is where he will be.” He also praised the wife of Oghiadomhe, Louusia, for being a reliable partner.
