Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has condemned a series of violence that disrupted the Sustainable Voter Registration Exercise (CVR) in the Osun state, describing it as a threat to democracy and citizen rights.
Fadahunsi, who represented the East Osun Senatorial District, made a statement in a statement released in Osogbo on Saturday by advisor, especially in the media, Sam Segun-Progress. Parliamentary members condemned the alleged premangery sponsors by political actors, saying the tactic was “savage, unnecessary, and primitive.” He warned that except the situation was handled urgently, it could damage the integrity of the entire registration process.

“This is really inappropriate to. Instead of encouraging residents to go out and register, some people incite criminals to release violence to innocent residents. Such actions must be captured and bitten in buds,” said Fadahunsi.
He demanded a thorough investigation of the incident and urged the stakeholders to speak against those who were responsible. He also appealed to young people, especially in Ijesaland, not to allow themselves to be manipulated as political thugs.
Fadahunsi further assigns security institutions to intensify efforts to secure the registration center and protect citizens. According to him, only decisive action against the perpetrators and their sponsors will ensure credible CVR training and prevent Osun from going down into chaos.
