Cas urged collective actions against security threats

The head of the aerial staff (CAS), Air Marshan Hasan Bala Abubakar, asked for a collaboration supported among Nigeria’s security agencies, underlining that national security is a shared duty that requires unity of effort.

A NAF spokesman’s statement revealed that the Air Commodor Ehimen Ejodame declared it to the Air Provost Conference 2025, held on September 8th in Jos.

The aeronautical marshal Abubakar told the leaders and representatives of the twin security agencies present that their participation underlined “the undeniable truth that national security is a collective responsibility”. He observed that emerging threats such as terrorism, bandits and computer crime “do not respect jurisdictional borders” and therefore require a unified and multi-agency response.

The Cas reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in particular of the air provost, to strengthen inter-agency ties through the sharing of joint intelligence, the detection of crime, coordinated operations and the development of mutual capacity. “We must continue to dismantle institutional barriers and operate as a unified force for the safety of our nation,” he added. Highlighting the central role of the air provost in the NAF operations, the CAS described them as “custodians of the discipline” and “guardians of installations”, whose work is vital both for the internal order and for a wider operational success.

To further strengthen the air social security capacity, the Air Marshal Abubakar has presented new initiatives, including the establishment of a cutting -edge forensic criminal and digital laboratory at the Jos Air Police Training Center, the acquisition of new military work dogs (MWD) for the K9 units and the hires of 100 annual air people for the next five years. He also revealed continuous improvements to the structures for the custody of the room, the construction of new provost squadrons and the completion of student accommodation at the Kerang air police training center. Looking to the future, the Cas said that training would be intensified to meet threats to evolving security, in particular in the IT war and digital forensic, ensuring that the air withdrawal can protect the critical digital infrastructure of the NAF.

He urged the participants to seize the opportunity of the conference to learn, collaborate and model the policies that will improve training and operations in all NAF formations. The CAS used the opportunity to express a profound appreciation to his excellence, the president and commander in chief of the armed forces, the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unshakable support for the Nigerian Air Force. While praised the direction of Air Provost for the organization of the event, which was held last time seven years ago, the CAS reiterated that the Nigerian aeronautics remains engaged in democracy and supremacy of the rule of law. “Our staff will continue to respect the law, supporting justice and respect for the civil authority,” he added.

Previously in his welcome speech, the head of the administration, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Sani, underlined the fundamental role of the air provost in maintaining the discipline, applying regulations and safeguarding the NAF infrastructure. He observed that the theme of this year, “taking advantage of technology, collaboration, development of skills and training for the AP tasks improved in a dynamic safety environment”, not only was it resounded, but also resonated with the second key factor of the head of the head of the control of air personnel, “deliberate training and development of mission -oriented forces”. According to him, he reflected a shared aspiration to equip the right tools, mentality and strategies to the staff to operate effectively in a rapidly evolving safety landscape.

In his observations, the governor of the state of the plateau, the lawyer Caleb Mutfwang, represented by the secretary of the state government, the architect Samuel Jatau, praised Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in the state for their incessant efforts in supporting peace through the plateau.
