Indications have emerged that the CEO of the immediate past group (CEO), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, was questioned by the agents of the Commission for economic and financial crimes (EFCC) at the Abuja headquarters as part of the ongoing probe in the maintenance of refuntity during his attempt.
They have been called in some quarters for the investigation and the pursuit of Kyari following a petition presented to the FCC on April 25, 2025, accusing the former head of the NNPCL of undue appropriation of billions of dollars during his mandate.
Blueprint.ng The correspondent reports that Kyari, who had been included in the Fuccc control list after the High Federal Court Abuja had given an order against him, had been invited by the Commission to clarify the issues relating to financial transactions relating to the maintenance of the refinery.
The High Federal Court Abuja had given the order to freeze four Jaiz bank accounts linked to the GMD following accusations of fraud and money laundering.
An anti-Innesto body agent, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed his presence at the EFCC, observing that Kyari arrived at the EFCC office at about 3:00 pm, but it was not in the position of providing further details.
