Denmark Goal King replaces Sani Suleiman in Super Eagles squad for Russia tie

FC Midtjylland striker Stanley Iheanacho, 21, has been called up to the Nigerian senior team for the first time for the friendly match against Russia, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The striker was drafted in as a late replacement for Al Qadsiah’s newly signed winger Sani Suleiman, who is currently injured and will not be available for the October 6 match in Moscow.

Iheanacho joined the Danish side in the summer from Portuguese side Mafra and does not look out of place in his new surroundings with five goals in 13 games in all competitions this season.

Chelle is taking advantage of the friendly match against Russia to test the players he intends to build his U23 team around, ahead of their first match in the U23 AFCON qualifiers in November.

They will be joined in the team by a host of senior Super Eagles players, who will contest the AFCON qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau on September 25 and 29 respectively.
