On Friday the state judiciary of Ogun commissioned a newly built High Court complex in Isheri-Olofin in the area of the IFO local government, marking the fourth structure of the court inaugurated in the state within 18 months.
The chief judge of the state of Ogun, Hon. Judge Mosunmola Dipeolu, who guided the commissioning, described the building as a product of the synergy between the state judiciary and the host community.
He observed that the move reflected the determination of the judiciary to make the delivery of justice more accessible, efficient and sensitive to the needs of residents.
“From the commissioning of the courts of Ijoko, Ifo and Ojodu inhabitaun last year to this magnificent structure today, we remain stopped in our mission to ensure that no citizen of the state of Ogun is denied to justice due to geographical or logistical constraints,” said judge Dipolu.
The chief judge explained that the new Alta Corte Isheri would facilitate the workload of the existing courts, would improve access to justice and would provide a hub for a quick and just award of cases.
He also recalled that the Alta Ifo Corte complex was commissioned on the same date last year, underlining the rhythm of the development of judicial infrastructures in the state.
While appreciating the people of Isheri-Olofin for giving the structure, the judge Dipeolu praised the efforts of the Olu of Isheri-Olofin, Oba Engr. Suleiman Adekunle Bamgbade, to mobilize the support of the community for the project.
In his message of goodwill, the fundamental sovereign of Yewalan, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, praised the chief judge for his dedication to the expansion of the judicial access, urged a stronger collaboration between the judiciary and traditional sovereigns in the state.
Even speaking, the president of the local government IFO, Hon. Idris Kusimo, observed that the establishment of multiple courts in the area had contributed significantly to reducing crime rates, adding that the new complex would further strengthen the law and order.
Oba Bamgbade, in its observations, expressed gratitude to the judiciary for the approval of the construction of the Court, ensuring that the building would raise the status of the community by providing a favorable environment for judicial proceedings.
The event was attended by Judges of the High Court, magistrates, bailiffs, traditional sovereigns, legal professionals and community leaders.
