Analysis: Flying eagles are still pure in advance for the World Cup U20

The scoring goals, which have attacked the Flying Eagles in the main tournaments, will be in the foreground in the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile in the final team named by coach Aliyu Zubairu.

They were barely placed in third place in the U20 AFCon in Egypt while the strikers fought in front of the goal.

Kparobo Ariehi, based in Norway, who was the top scorer of the team with three goals in the Wafu B qualifiers last year, was not in his element in Egypt and stayed for the midfielders and the defenders take the team in the line in North Africa.

Hoffenheim Youngster Priceus Benjamin showed some bite, but could not deliver the objectives either.

He did not make the final cut to Chile 2025 and, on the other hand, Charles Agada, based in Croatia, was removed after he did not kick a ball in the Wafu qualifiers, while the tastes of Orser Achihi (Antwerp) and Shittu Abdullahi (Manchester City) remain unknown amounts.

Interestingly, Stade Reims Hafiz Ibrahim striker, who shone when he trained with the U20 in Abuja recently, was overlooked for the World Cup.

Team officials said that everything was made to take Hafiz on board, but that they could not ensure a guarantee that the French club Stade Reims will release him, where he is with the first team.

Since then, both the club and the player have made it clear that he would have been available for the World Cup.

The French club also released Defensor Amos Echoche, since he is with the reservations.

Daniel Daga is the remarkable addition to the South America team, which is below the quality of the U20 AFCon team earlier this year.

This will be his second U20 World Cup after he played an important role for the Flying Eagles to reach the last eight in Argentina two years.

His experience and combative style will improve the center of the field, which also has the former captain of the warriors of El Kanemi, Nasiru Salihu, who since then has been transferred to Azerbaiyan.
