The Osun State Chapter from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to launch a formal investigation of what is described as a “deviation” about the ongoing legal battle over the crisis of the State Government Council.
The controversy came from a lawsuit filed by the Osun state government in the Federal High Court in Osogbo, attempting to prevent the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from releasing allocation to local government officials chosen under all Progressive Congress (APC). However, the latest developments in this case have led to concerns in PDP over the integrity of the judicial procedure.
In the press briefing held on Thursday in Osogbo, the Chairperson of the PDP in Osun, Sunday Bisi, expressed worry about the involvement of those suspected of disguising as court officers in handling this case.
According to Bisi: “We, the Democratic People’s Party in Osun state, therefore ask the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to immediately investigate this deviation. He must investigate how and why people, it is said to work in his office, who is not a court officer, signing a letter carrying the power of court authority.”
This case was reported to take another turn when it was allegedly transferred to Abuja, a step that had been condemned by the Osun state government, accusing the unnamed actors of trying to manipulate the results of the judiciary.

“The state government describes the step as prejudice,” Bisi said, “said there was no need to move this case to Abuja,” and further accusing “rotten games” in the process.
The Chairperson of the PDP emphasized the party’s commitment to legal and democratic norms, insisting that justice must remain a neutral and respected institution.
“We demand accountability. We demand transparency. Above everything, we demand respect for the rule of law,” Bisi said.
When the legal dispute continues, the request of the PDP puts additional pressure on the judiciary to clarify its internal processes and ensure trust in handling cases that are politically sensitive.
