Obi denied the meeting, taking photos with Trump, Mc Oluomo

The presidential candidate from the Labor Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has denied the picture showing him with American President Donald Trump and Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the “MC Oluomo” Akinsi.

Obi describes the pictures shared on several social media platforms and news blogs as fake and manipulated.

The former Governor of the State Anambra who rejected the pictures in a statement he posted on his X grip on Wednesday, said the pictures showing that he had recently met with Donald Trump and Oluomo and the stories that accompanied him were made to mislead the public.

In a statement entitled “Clarification of Fake News and Photos”, Obi said the photos were taught with the aim of wrong public information.

While reaffirming that the type of politics is focused on overcoming insecure, promoting the rule of law, improving education and health care, and lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty, Obi warns that such fabrication highlights the dangers of false and disinformed news, which he described deliberately was designed to confuse, mislead, and disturb the community.

The statement reads:

“Clarification of Fake News and Photos

“My attention has been focused on some of the pictures currently circulating on social media, wrongly describing meetings that I have never had.

“One picture like that is intended to show me with US President Donald Trump, in addition to fake claims that he praised me. The others tried to describe me with MC Oluomo in his office.

“Allow me to declare categorize that the two images are fake and cared for, and the stories that accompany them are entirely wrong. I have not met this new Trump, I also do not have such a meeting with Mc Oluomo.

“This fabrication highlights the danger that continues from fake news and disinformation in our society. They are not only misleading but are deliberately designed to be confusing, misleading, and distracting public attention.

“Nigeria and the international community must remain vigilant, verify information before sharing, and reject the culture of propaganda that damage the truth and integrity.

“To avoid doubts, if I hold a meeting like that, I will personally make them public in my X grip. My politics never about seeking praise or cheap publicity; this is about dealing with real problems of Nigeria and working towards solutions based on integrity, accountability, and transparency.

“My politics is very focused on overcoming the fate of suffering Nigerians, by overcoming insecure, rule of law, education, health care, and attracting millions of people out of poverty.”
