The police denied killing the alleged armed robbers in detention

The Benue State Police Command has denied reports about the murder of an alleged armed robber, Philip KPentuman, in detention.

The spokesman of the order, DSP Udeme Edet, made a clarification in a statement on Friday in Makurdi.

He said the Commissioner of the State Police, Mr. Emenari Ifeiri, has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death of the KPentuman.

According to Edet, the suspect was arrested on September 20 by the Zenda operations, who also searched his house.

“He (KPentuman) then led the operator to the hiding place in Tse-Tamen Settlement, Ugondu, Makurdi, where locked pistols and five cartridges hidden in the nylon pocket were found.
