The Joint Task Force for the Wirel Stroke (OPWS) on Friday saved two officers who were kidnapped from the Nigerian immigration service in the local government in the Benue state.
OPWS Acting media information officer, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Makurdi.
He said the operation followed the credible intelligence of the “appropriate superior authority” on the abduction of the two officers identified as David Iorwuese and Oliver Orasuur.
He added that the coordinated search and rescue mission was launched at Tse Temb and Adamawa Village, which is located inside the Azendesh Ukum LGA council ward, where the two men were saved.
Zubairu said: “The operation was executed with precision and speed, causing the success of the recovery of the two victims in Adamawa Village after the kidnappers fled.
“The officers who are saved are currently in a safe detention over the troops, receiving early medical attention and debriefing.”
