The current continental champion, Oluwatimilehin Doko, heads the list of 15 words warriors who have been carefully selected to represent Nigeria in the next World Association of English Scrabble players (Wespa), championship in Accra, the capital of Ghana, the ‘entrance door to Africa’.
The list of 15 men made public by the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), is dominated by 5 foxes of the fearsome kings of 2023 NSF Inter Club – Warri Scrabble Club.
The winner of the Lekki Scrabble 2025 classics, Abdulmumin Jimoh, is another super heavy weight in the team with serial champion, John Aiyedun, as well as the captain of the Nigeria team for the last scribble championship of Western Africa and Gold Medalist of the National Festival of the National Festival, Ben Quickpen.
The recently crowned winner of the Annual Scrabble Tournament of Emmanuel Egbele, Emmanuel Umojose, is the powerful head of the contingent of the Warri Scabble Club in the Nigeria team team.
Others are Tega Okiemute, who will return to Accra after his experience in African games, Victor Godwin is the winner of the first edition of Panasa President’s Cup.
The hard fighter Larry Etuwa, former African champion Rex Ogbakpa and the most decorated female player of all time in Africa, Tuoyo Mayuku, completes the SCARBBLE of the strength of the word and mind game in Nigeria – Warri.
NSF Green Jacket Holder, George Ezinore, Samuel Adotola and Chinedu Thorpe, are other feared members of the Nigeria team who will seek to write their gold names in ACCRA in November this year.
It is interesting to affirm that for the first time in the history of Nigeria’s participation in the World Scrabble Championship, two brothers John and Peter Ebomah will fight for the honors for the country in ACCRA.
Both secured their places in the team at the end second and third in the national qualifier of the last chance in Abuja. John was in second place with 14 victories of 22 games and a cumulative point of more 445, while Peter was third with more than 128 cumulative points of the same number of victories.
Oluwatimilehin Doko won the qualifier, which was an academic exercise for him with 19 victories and more 1212 points.

The team will camp in Lagos before its departure to Mother Land-Ghana on November 9.
While they are in the camp, the members of the Nigeria team will test their power in the single -day edition of Unified Scrabble Reuns Lakes in the Pavilion next to the pool, Rowe Park Sports Center, Alagomeji, Yaba.
In the last world championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, the Nigeria team was second in the event of the country and former world champion Wellington Jighere ended fourth in the individual category.
