The international agency, which disclosed this via its X account on Wednesday, said Ikechukwu, who was arrested in Argentina, had previously been declared wanted for the crime.
INTERPOL said the arrests were made as part of Operation Jackal, a coordinated initiative targeting organized criminal groups in West Africa.
According to INTERPOL, Ikechukwu’s arrest marks the first arrest of Argentina’s most wanted #RedNotice fugitive who is also on the international police list through the Silver Notice project.
The statement further explained that the Silver Notice project, whose pilot was launched in January 2025, aims to help countries trace and recover criminal assets.
