The Benin Republic Cheetahs have arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom after Tuesday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C qualification match against the Nigerian Super Eagles.
The team’s arrival was captured in a video by Victor Ademola TV and published on its handle X.
The Benin players and officials landed at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo today (Saturday).
On Friday, Benin gave a big boost to their hopes of making their first World Cup appearance with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rwanda.

With the victory, Benin increased their points tally to 17 and must avoid defeat against the Super Eagles to secure the sole ticket.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles beat Lesotho 2-1 in Polokwane thanks to goals from William Troost-Ekong and debutant Akor Adams.
The victory means the Eagles have 14 points and must beat Benin by two goals and hope South Africa fails to beat Rwanda.
In the first leg between Benin and the Super Eagles in Abidjan, the match ended 2-1 in favor of the former on matchday four.
The two teams also met in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, with the Eagles claiming a 3-0 win in Uyo in the first leg and a 1-1 draw in the second leg in Abidjan.
