Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Friday 6th, at Eha-Amufu and Umuhu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State, arrested an alleged notorious commander of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), Sabastine Odo Odam, and Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The reports cite security sources as saying the arrest followed months of continuous intelligence gathering on the suspects’ activities.
The arrests came in the wake of a series of violent attacks on police stations and killings between 2024 and 2026, all in Isi-Uzo LGA.
“Both men confessed to being the masterminds of a chain of attacks on police stations and seizures of weapons. The attacks included the killing of 11 workers on February 26 and five policemen between December 24, 2025 and January 26, 2026.
“The arrests represent a great success for the DSS in the fight against insecurity in the south-east and the country at large,” one of the sources said.
Residents of Isi-Uzo LGA expressed excitement as news of the arrests filtered out.
Many stressed that the arrests would bring some peace to the affected communities.
Both suspects are in DSS custody and awaiting trial, the source said.
