The country, in a statement on Saturday by its foreign ministry, said it had “previously urged foreign citizens and diplomats in Kyiv to leave the city and refrain from visiting Ukraine.”
Moscow has hit Ukraine with drone and missile attacks during its offensive and in recent weeks has stepped up attacks on Kyiv, targeting key infrastructure.
“We are concerned that not everyone is heeding these warnings, and that individuals are knowingly putting themselves in mortal danger,” the ministry said.
On Friday, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said his city should now be in a state of war as the enemy is “tearing Kyiv apart” with attacks on bridges and energy infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelensky accused his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, of breaking the rules of armed conflict by sanctioning large-scale attacks on civilian areas, a charge the Kremlin denies.
