The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi has expressed shock over the alleged involvement of its members in the kidnapping and death of a monarch, Francis Igwe, father of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Kelechi Igwe.
Reports indicated that the party’s publicity secretary in the state was involved in the act.
The APC chairman in Ebonyi, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, expressed his shock on Saturday when he led a party delegation on a condolence visit to the Igwe family in Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo Local Government Area of the state.
Okoro-Emegha said the news of the involvement of the party officials was such a shock that he could not appear in public.

“The report was unheard of because I was not confident facing the public since the last two days.
“Party members could not believe for the life of them that the party could be linked to such actions.
“We operate as a family to the extent that someone can vouch for someone else even though we are doing normal party activities,” he said.
The chairman insisted that his party would support the state government’s decision on the issue.
“The Governor as the father of the country and party leader cannot tolerate such evil acts by anyone involved.
“We condemn whatever is condemnable because whatever is evil is still evil.
“All those who heard of these actions and did not speak up among other levels of involvement, should receive the same amount of what they deserve,” he added.
