Once again, Governor Fintiri imposed a curfew in Lamurde LGA due to violence

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area of ​​the state.

This follows another violent attack which claimed several lives in a community in Lamurde LGA.

This was stated by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Humwashi Wonosikou in a statement issued Monday in Yola.

The governor imposed a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde LGA in December. August 8, 2025, following “new eruptions of communal clashes” and attacks on the Bachama community.

The governor described the disturbances as unacceptable and directed security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew.

He warned that anyone or groups found violating the directives would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.

Governor Fintiri added that the curfew will remain in effect until further notice.

He also directed security agencies to maintain law and order in the region while enforcing restrictions.

Fintiri urged citizens to comply with the curfew and provide useful information to security agencies to ensure peaceful coexistence.

“The government will not condone acts of violence and will take necessary measures to restore peace and order,” he said.
