Turaki-led PDP rejects claims of dissolution of Ondo, Ogun, Oyo excos

The Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised its members to ignore reports of the dissolution of elected executive committees in Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo States.

The National Publicity Secretary of the faction, Ini Ememobong, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, described the purported disbandment as illegal and an affront to the proposed reconciliation within the party.

The party faction’s National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature, has during the week disbanded state executive committees and set up interim committees in three states.

“We have seen the announcement of the dissolution of elected state executive committees in Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states.

“This dissolution, which is illegal and unwarranted, is an affront to the proposed reconciliation for which talks are ongoing. Further attempts to deepen divisions at state and other levels are null, void and have no impact whatsoever.

“We urge the state chapters, all party officials at state and local government levels, as well as the public, to ignore the notice and continue carrying out their lawful duties,” Ememobong said.
