We will continue to collaborate with traditional rulers on security matters: Uba Sani


The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to collaborate with traditional institutions in the state to improve security across the state.

The State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, said this when he received the Emir of Zazzau and Chairman of the Council of Emirs and Chiefs of Kaduna State, Mal Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli at the traditional Hawan Bariki held at Muhammad Aminu Square in GRA, Sabon Gari, Zaria on Saturday.

He described traditional institutions as key stakeholders who have a significant role to play in the peace and security of lives and properties closest to the people.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Hajiya Hadiza sabuwa Balarabe, added that traditional rulers would assist in a small way in intelligence gathering.

Earlier, the Emir had appreciated the Uba Sani-led administration for ensuring relative security in the state.

He urged citizens of the state to live in peace with each other and assist security agencies with useful information to safeguard lives and property and maintain law and order for the betterment of society.

“Security is a collective responsibility, so everyone needs to be able to intervene,” he said.

He also lauded the efforts of security agencies working day and night to reduce insecurity, urging them not to do so
