The Federal High Court in Ibadan on Thursday sentenced one Oliver to three years in prison for dealing 195g of Cannabis Sativa.

Justice Nkeonye Maha, found Oliver guilty and sentenced based on his guilty plea and evidence presented by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Maha added that the convict did not waste the court’s time and resources before pleading guilty to the charge.

“Therefore Oliver is sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for each of the two offences.

“The sentence will run concurrently and will start from the date he was first arrested.

“The evidence of weed found in his possession will be destroyed by the NDLEA,” he said

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mrs AA Balogun, told the court that the convict committed the offense on September 17, 2025 at Alafara Babanla, in Ologuneru, Ibadan.

Balogun said NDLEA operatives had arrested the convict for being in possession of a bag containing 195g of the illicit substance following credible information.

The offenses contravene the provisions of sections 11(c) of the NDLEA Act Cap n30 of the Federation, 2004.
