Kano deputy governor resigns – Ripples Nigeria

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has resigned from his post.

The deputy governor’s media aide, Ibrahim Shuaibu, confirmed the news to journalists on Friday in Kano.

But he is tight-lipped about what prompted his principal to leave the state government.

Gwarzo was under pressure from the State House of Assembly to renounce his seat over his refusal to follow Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor dumped the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) for the APC in February.

He was followed to the ruling party by members of the Assembly and members of the state executive council.
