Nigerian Samson Adamu has been appointed interim general secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

He replaces Veron Mosengo-Omba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who resigned to participate in the elections for president of the Football Federation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FECOFA).

It is not yet clear how long Samson, son of veteran Nigerian sports administrator Amos Adamu, will remain in the job, or whether his current removal will be made permanent.
