That Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed recently convened women leaders in Manhasset, Long Island, for the fifth year, to reaffirm their collective commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), women’s rights, gender equality, and SDG principles UN Charter.

Participants underlined that gender equality is a fundamental human rights issue and a cornerstone of sustainable development, peace, security and inclusive prosperity.
Against the backdrop of growing inequality, the UN women leaders taking part emphasized that the world must protect the progress achieved through their collective efforts.
The meeting underscored the important role of women’s leadership as an important condition for building a more just, inclusive, equal and peaceful society.

The meeting ended with a strong and unified call for action: to protect multilateralism, increase investment, and encourage women’s leadership to the greatest extent possible.
