Ogun: 4 dead, 8 injured in a single accident


Four people have died in a single accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, involving a Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number AGL789YL.

In a statement made available to Blueprint.ng, The Corps Public Relations Officer, SRC Odunsi Afolabi, said the cause of the accident could be attributed to a speeding violation (SPV), which resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle.

He added that the injured victims were immediately evacuated to Famobis Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The deceased were transported to the Idera Morgue.

“The Motor Traffic Division (MTD) of the Redenta Police Station has taken custody of the crashed vehicle, along with all recovered property and luggage belonging to the passengers, for further investigation and safekeeping.

“The sector commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, sends his condolences to the families of the deceased victims, while reminding all motorists to strictly obey speed limits and ensure their tires are in good condition,” the statement said.
