Beşiktaş have confirmed that Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe.

The Nigerian midfielder was sent off in the 85th minute and has since begun treatment with the club’s medical team after an MRI confirmed the injury.

Ndidi had previously been booked in the 52nd minute, a booking that rules him out of Beşiktaş’s upcoming Turkish Super Lig clash against Alanyaspor due to suspension.

The warning was the fourth of the season in the league. The 29-year-old is now expected to spend some time on the sidelines as he recovers.
