Bauchi 2027: The dice should be rolled in Bala Wunti

The national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was held in Abuja on Friday, March 27, 2026, where party leaders were elected through consensus of delegates who came from across the country. However, possible gubernatorial candidates from different states came and affirmed their loyalty to the party and showed their political resistance at the convention site.

For starters, and narration from Bauchi State participants: all possible governorship candidates, Ali Pate, Shehu Buba, Lawyer Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti and his political lieutenants graced the occasion with the ingredients that colored the convention.

The elements and toppings added by Bala Wunti and his supporters that made the event too colorful were very different from those of other governorship contenders from Bauchi state. The loyalty and assertiveness he and his supporters have shown towards the party are more than enough to set him apart from others.

APC, as a party, always encourages and engages people with fresh ideas as innovative drivers, which is one of the factors behind APC’s success as the strongest and fastest growing political party in Nigeria and West Africa. Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti also aligns with these new ideas of the party, as he has encouraged the inclusion of youth in governance, where the energy of youth will be used to achieve better governance through the guidance and experience of experienced technocrats.

Nonetheless, the speech by the Bala Wunti journalist immediately after the convention was one of the ingredients that animated the party. This is because the call he made about the faster growth of the party, fueled by its inclusiveness regardless of regional and sectional biases, as well as youth engagement, was something that sold the party to the electorate and Nigerians as a whole.

Despite the higher turnout of guber players from different states, surprisingly peaceful coordination was observed on Bala Wunti’s side. Furthermore, colorful party materials containing the president’s image alongside the vice president, the party’s national president and Bala Wunti himself were seen everywhere in Eagle Square, where the event took place.

The famous political musician, Rarara, had sung a song sponsored by Bala Wunti himself which had motivated both the political gladiators and other allies who had gathered in the Piazza dell’Aquila. Because the stage show also entertained the powerful president, government executives, party national president Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatd and other party stakeholders.

To sum up, Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti was the most visible party promoter even at the national level, not just in Bauchi, at the regional level. Therefore, we urge the party and the president to consider rolling the dice for the governorship, being the candidate who could easily win the 2027 governorship election. Because he is the only candidate who has already won the hearts of the electorate and a candidate who can face the opposition fearlessly.
