Akinsamiro, Nnadi and Fago return to the Super Eagles team for the Unity Cup

AFCON trio of Ebenezer Akinsamiro, Tochukwu Nnadi and Salim Fago will be in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming Unity Cup in May, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Nigeria will defend their title in the friendly tournament in London with coach Eric Chelle keen to use the tournament to try out new players and also give playing time to fringe players.

The aforementioned trio were part of the team that finished third in the AFCON that ended in January with Fago and Nnadi getting some minutes, while Akinsamiro, on loan to Pisa from league leaders Inter Milan, did not feature.

Fago moved to Czech Republic side Viktoria Plzen after AFCON, while Nnadi also moved to Ligue 1 side Marseille. Both players are now expected to be in the squad for May’s tournament alongside Akinsamiro and Chelle is keen to see them in a non-competitive match.

His inclusion in the squad for June’s match against Poland and Portugal respectively will largely depend on his performance in the tournament.
