Nasarawa PDP chief has left the party

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Adamu Ninga, has resigned from the party.

The Chairman confirmed the news to journalists on Friday in Lafia.

The PDP State Working Committee suspended its chairman for alleged gross misconduct on March 25.

Ninga told journalists that he had written to the PDP Chairman of his ward, Agyaga Constituency of Akwanga Local Government Area about his decision to leave the party.

He cited strained relations within the party and pressure from some people to manipulate him for their selfish interests as reasons for leaving the party.

“I chose to resign because of uncivil relations with several party members who tried to pressure me into breaking party regulations.

“I feel I have to resign if my relationship with a group of people is not good because I would rather take part for the sake of honor than a situation where people want to force me to serve their personal interests,” Ninga added.
