Top scorer Erling Haaland arrived early and the only goal of the game in 5 minutes of play was enough to put Manchester City top of the table and relegate defeated Burnley to the league. Jeremy Doku provided the assist.
City have hit form at the right time and look in an ominous state of mind, recovering nine points from Arsenal in less than a fortnight to narrowly climb to the top of goals scored.
Guardiola’s men had not been in top place since the opening week of the season, but an 11-match unbeaten run saw them leapfrog the Gunners with five games remaining.

But defeat means Scott Parker’s side will join bottom club Wolves in the second tier next season, dropping to the Championship for the second time in three years.
