The Nigerian football team will know its opponents for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches when the draw takes place on May 19, 2026, the Confederation of African Football has confirmed.
A total of 48 nations, including co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, will compete for places in the tournament, officially named AFCON PAMOJA 2027.
Teams will be divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two in each group advancing to the final.
The qualification campaign will be spread across FIFA international windows, starting between September and October 2026, followed by additional matches in November, before concluding in March 2027. Three-time African champions Nigeria will be aiming for a successful campaign as they aim to secure qualification and compete for the continental title.
