AS FAR has formally written to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to oppose the appointment of Jean Jacques Ndala Ngambo as referee for the first leg of the Champions League final.
They demand his immediate replacement and do not want him to officiate the game.
AS FAR based its objection on the controversy surrounding the AFCON final between Morocco and Senegal, where Ndala did not caution the Senegalese players who left the field of play on the instructions of their coach.
The Moroccan team also questioned his credibility, citing his absence from the list of referees selected by FIFA for the World Cup.

Initially, CAF had appointed Amin Mohamed Omar to the party.
However, Mamelodi Sundowns expressed concerns over their regional links with AS FAR, prompting CAF to make a change.
With Ndala now appointed and facing opposition from AS FAR, CAF is expected to hold an urgent meeting after both teams expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing arrangements for the first leg in Pretoria.
