Oyo APC welcomes Tegbe’s ministerial appointment, saying it will strengthen her

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed the appointment of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Energy, saying he will strengthen reforms and improve power delivery nationwide.

This is contained in a letter dated May 4, jointly signed by the State President, Chief Moses Adeyemo Alake, and the Secretary of State, Fatai Adesina, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Ibadan.

The party described the appointment of the current Director General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership as well-deserved and timely, given the country’s urgent need for sustained reforms in the energy sector.

He expressed confidence in Tegbe’s ability to provide impactful leadership, citing his track record of excellence in both the private and public sectors.

According to APC, Tegbe’s appointment comes at a critical period in Nigeria’s development, where strategic direction and competent leadership are needed to address long-standing challenges in energy production, transmission and distribution.

“The APC in Oyo State is confident that Tegbe will bring innovation, efficiency and sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s power sector.

“His history of performance and commitment to service positions him to make significant contributions to national development,” he said.

While reaffirming its full support, the party also committed to providing constructive engagement where necessary and encouraged continued collaboration between the minister-designate and party stakeholders.

The statement also acknowledged Tegbe’s contribution to the growth of the APC in Oyo State, expressing optimism that his new national assignment would further strengthen his commitment to public service and collective progress.
