The 17-year-old midfielder linked to Arsenal lands on the Super Eagles’ radar

Victor Ozhianvuna is not a name many Nigerians have heard before in relation to playing for the Nigerian senior team, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

However, he is a household name in the Republic of Ireland, where he became a star at the age of 17 playing for top division league leaders Shamrock Rovers.

His promotion caught the attention of Arsenal who soon reached an agreement for his signing. He will officially join them when he turns 18 in January next year.

He was approached for the first time to call up the senior Ireland team for their training camp in the Spanish city of Murcia, but was surprisingly left out.

“He (Victor) has a relative who works with a senior Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) official. So we know him, but it is too early to make a call on his future,” revealed an NFF source who alerted our correspondent about the 17-year-old.

“When he arrives at Arsenal next year, we can start talking about his international future. I can tell you that the coaches will probably examine him for the under-20s or under-23s. It is really an option,” he said.
