Nigeria among the top 10 players in the 2025/26 European season

Emmanuel Fernandez (Rangers)

Fernandez was virtually an unknown figure before arriving at Ibrox from English League One side Peterborough United last summer. The centre-back, however, attracted attention for his impressive performances in the center of the Rangers defence.

The 24-year-old was rewarded with a maiden call-up to the Super Eagles, as well as being named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.

Ademola Lookman (Atletico Madrid)

The talented winger moved from Atalanta to AtlΓ©tico de Madrid during the January transfer market and has quickly established himself as a key player for Los Colchoneros.

Paul Onuachu (Trabzonspor)

Onuachu joined Trabzonspor on a permanent transfer from Southampton last summer. The forward had previously spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Papara Park.

The 31-year-old justified his signing with an impressive 22 goals and two assists in 27 league appearances for the Black Sea Storm.

His goal is to succeed his compatriot Victor Osimhen as the top scorer in the Turkish Super League. Osimhen won the Golden Boot last season with 26 goals in 30 games.

Maduka Okoye (Udinese)

The goalkeeper was suspended for two months at the start of the season for his alleged involvement in a betting scandal.
